A workshop with Claire Williams

During her workshops, Claire Williams invites us to use textile techniques to (de)construct simple electronic systems in order to understand and repurpose them.
This involves re-purposing recycled objects and transforming them into portable antennas through different textile techniques. Table legs, hats or even umbrellas, go crazy! The possibilities are – a almost – endless…
It’s enough to create a small electronic circuit to connect antennas and headphones. With its antennas, this device can pick up and amplify the (usually imperceptible) electromagnetic activity of neighbouring electronic devices: motors, LEDs, electrical circuits, neon lights, radio waves… It’s a stroll through a soundscape where you’ll discover a different side of an environment we experience every day.
The antennas created will be exhibited in the Galerie Rature until 29 October, after which their creators will be free to repeat the experience!

Keep in mind :
No experience necessary!
Donation-based, but limited space: sign up!
Bring recycled objects to transform and, if possible, headphones.
