D’une Certaine Gaieté invites you to step aboard for a performance with a Balkan flavour.

Mamaliga Orkestar (BE)

Created at the instigation of accordionist Silvia Guerra and clarinettist Aurélie Charneux, who has been performing alongside Klezmic Zirkus for some time, the Mamaliga Orkestar will be offering its own light-hearted, though lacking nothing in conviction, take on a repertoire that never did go on tour. 2019 sees the orchestra not only back in Belgium but also performing in the South of France, from which singer Lise Oustric hails. A Klezmer repertoire followed by a selection of gypsy songs are guaranteed to make for a Klezmarvellous, gypsologically incredible performance.
They’re not Jewish, there’s no gypsy grandmother, not even an uncle who has emigrated to Argentina or a cousin Erasmus in Poland; they’re just a bunch of people with a passion.
