Full moon ⬤

Swedish-Danish silent movie Häxan (or Witchcraft Through the Ages, to give it its English title), created by Benjamin Christensen in 1922, is a tale of witchcraft featuring reconstructed scenes of debauchery, torture and even hysteria at a convent as Christensen takes us right to the heart of the inquisition period, complete with pyres, sabbats and other pacts with the devil.

These powerful, dreamlike scenes are revisited here, nearly a century later, by Liège-based four-piece Les Sorties de Chaudron, which has been put together especially for the occasion.

Throw in a live soundtrack and what you have is a political piece that merrily combines eccentric musical numbers with compulsive voice-over, dramatic sound effects and erratic dancing!
