The collective Les Alchimistes brings together three sisters– Nadia, Noémie and Lily Berz – and a desire to tell stories, each through their own artistic practices, which are storytelling, piano and illustration. With Ouziel ou le rêve d’ailleurs, a story from Ashkenazi Jewish folklore with a mischievous spirit and full of humour, the sisters explore Romanian folklore and unveil a landscape full of contrasts, thanks to the lithography technique. Very different from the original version it was inspired by, this show invites you to discover a captivating little world that seems to revolve around itself, that of the shtetl (Jewish quarter) of Chelm. It’s populated by unlikely characters whose way of thinking borders on the absurd and whose lives are punctuated by mysterious activities. With this funny and offbeat show, you will be taken on a literary and artistic journey to discover the folkloric sounds of Ouziel.
