For our 30th anniversary, we’re questioning one of the historical pillars of Voix de Femmes: the World Music category.

In the context of this anniversary edition (30 years, just imagine!), we're questioning our heritage: what we must continue, question, transform and, in turn, pass on. We think that this the perfect occasion to question one of the historical pillars of the Voix de Femmes project: the World Music category. In light of recent research on the subject and real-life experience, we’ll take a critical look, from a de-colonial perspective, at the sector and our own practices.

The event will be led by Souria Cheurfi (VICE Belgium, Psst Mlle), with Marion Schultz, Sika Gblondoumé (musician), Christine Zayed (musician) and Sofia Rasquin (Crammed Discs / Bloom Hill). For professionals in the sector, music and humanities enthusiasts, agents of change, and ultimately, all curious ears.

In collaboration with VICE Belgium.
