Taking part in

In Brussels, Las Lloronas brings together street musicians Sura Solomon (BE/USA), Amber in 't Veld (ES/NL), and Marieke Werner (DE). They are at the crossroads of different musical practices and traditions: traditional Spanish music, polyphony, klezmer sounds, fado, blues, and slam. Influenced by (among others) Lhasa de Sela and Noname and united by their passion for sociology, activism, and art, they offer a repertoire that varies between laments, daydreams, and war cries. In their debut album Soaked, released in 2020, they tackle themes as political as they are intimate, at the crossroads of their multicultural and multilingual experiences. Some advice between friends: you should never underestimate the power of mourners.
