Mel Moya is a Belgian feminist slam poet who performs on international stages.

Winner of literary prizes Paroles Urbaines and Borderlines—Euregion Poetry Slam in 2021 and 2022, she also participates in the final of the Belgian slam poetry championship in 2022, and to the grand finale of the Académie des Jeux floraux (Floral Games Academy) of Toulouse in 2024. Rage is word. Urgency leads her pen

Electrified by this lightning of words and by theatre, she falls in love with slam poetry. Her art becomes her ticket to prestigious cultural venues. Mel Moya has performed on international stages and residencies (in France, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Benin, Senegal, and China), revealing on stage texts she refines in the secrecy of her notebooks.

She represented Belgium at the Belgian Embassy in Washington D.C. as part of the 2023 edition of the Nuits de la Poésie Francophone (Francophone Poetry Nights).

In March 2025, during a literary tour in China, the first translations of her debut poetry collection Mater Dolorosa achieve great success. Her experience led her to participate in various slam and poetry competitions and prizes as a judge (the Belgian national slam championship, interschool slam competitions supported by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, and the PoetikBazar poetry competition).

Mater Dolorosa (published in January 2024 in the collection Les deux Soeurs from the publisher l’Arbre de Diane) will be adapted for the stage in a poetic duo with Céline Chappuis on the cello in Fall 2025.
