Mélanie Cao (Asiofeminism Now !)

Mélanie Cao is a feminist and antiracist writer. She explores with her project Asiofeminism Now! issues of narration, minority archives and questions the notion of gaze from an Asian-feminist and decolonial perspective through publishing and public speaking.

She is the author of the audio docuseries “I speak to you here about what does not exist” which places the mic at the intersections of sexism and anti-Asian racism in Belgium, it had its preview in Liège during the Voix de Femmes festival (2023) and in Brussels at Recyclart.

In 2024, Mélanie Cao was awarded the “Brussels Writing: Brussels and its Diasporas” Award by the City of Brussels, presented by La Bellone, and proposed a first poetic performance during the Et Caetera literary festival in June 2024.
