In Hysterrae, those of you with a keen eye will recognise two familiar faces at Voix de Femmes: Cinzia Marzo and Silvia Gallone were with us in 2005 and 2009 with Officina Zoe.
Today accompanied by Irene Lungo and Shadi Fathi, they take us on a deep dive into the belly of the earth. From Iran to Naples, from the valley of Itria to Salento: polyphonic singing, hypnotic melodies and ancestral rhythms take us straight to the popular festivals of the southern peninsula of Pulia, and, more widely, the Mediterranean. It’s an artistic and spiritual encounter as powerful as it is surprising, a project that is both traditional and hybrid: everything we love. In short, we’re excited to welcome and share one of Hysterrae’s first performances!
