Originally from Liège and living in Brussels, Farida Amadou is a self-taught electric bassist and sound artist.

Since 2017, she has established herself as one of the most unique voices on the European experimental and improvisational scene. Her radical approach to bass—often amplified, saturated, and deconstructed—blurs the lines between noise, free jazz, electroacoustic music, and punk.

BUT.

For her carte blanche at the festival, Farida Amadou has chosen to present a brand-new solo creation, without her favourite instrument!

An exploration of improvised textures constructed from samples of West African rhythms, melodic fragments, and vocals.

Known for her raw energy rooted in noise and free improvisation, she opens a new chapter, blending ancestral resonances and radical sonic freedom. We’re thrilled that it will be shared with us all!
