The non-profit organisation EVA brings together people who have recently arrived in Belgium and want to learn French. Their training lasts six months.
Among them, groups of around a dozen people meet every week for three months to exchange ideas, while creating artistic work in the Expression Workshops proposed by Voix De Femmes and led by Marie Hélène Tromme.
Since 2023, the project Traces gathers workshops where theatre blends with exploration around paper in all its forms. It was born from the wish to create and maintain a link between the people who succeed one another at EVA.
What will remain of us where we have been in six months or a year? Through their creations, participants share their stories, transmit them, and echo them with others, leaving something from each person passing for those who follow.
What should we do with our heritage, our stories? How can we preserve them while immersing ourselves in the culture of a new host country? And above all: how can we collectively carry them forward so that they endure over time and become real levers for action?
The exhibition brings together a selection of works produced and shared over the past two years.
