Sepideh Farsi immerses us in the war in Gaza over a period of 200 days through her telephone correspondence with Fatima Hassouna, a young Gazan photographer.
Sepideh Farsi is a politically engaged Iranian filmmaker. She was imprisoned in Iran because of her political stance. Against the feeling of powerlessness in the face of the genocide of the Palestinian people by the State of Israel, the director decides to connect the inhabitants of Gaza with the rest of the world.
Through her network, she meets—by telephone via the internet—Fatima Hassouna, a young photographer in her twenties. A bond develops between these two women, and Sepideh shares some of their conversations during which we get to know Fatima along with the director. Both professionals in the audiovisual world, one having chosen to remain in Gaza to document it, the other allowing her to broadcast her work, together they reveal a fragment of life in Gaza during this gruesome period.
The young Fatima died with her family under the bombs on 16 April 2025, just as the film was finished. This revolts us, like the ongoing massacre, and also reminds us of the tremendous power audiovisual media can have to denounce and position against the horrors of colonialism.
