Sound Crossing in Troubled Waters
The lichen Stereocaulon vulcani is one of the initial species to inhabit lava flows on some volcanoes.
The collective Fléchir le vide en avant (Bend the void forward), composed of artists with scientific backgrounds in fields such as medicine, physics, and oceanography, uses the phenomenon that results from an eruption as a basis to explore topics related to mental disorders.
Seated comfortably on spacious cushions, the audience is guided through an exploration of psychological landscapes, conveyed via testimonies from individuals such as concerned parties, loved ones, and caregivers. This experience is enhanced by interludes of electronic music, vocal performances, and songs.
Stéréo Vulcani offers a thoughtful and delicate exploration of a subject that, despite its prevalence, often remains unseen within our society.
