La Fracture
- Theatre
"La Fracture" is the first live performance by Yasmine Yahiatene, a multi-disciplinary artist who trained as a video artist, based in Brussels.
In this soliloquy, alone on stage and with video as her partner, she interprets her story and deciphers the intimate and complex relationship she has with her father.
By seeking to reconnect with him, and through a variety of devices, she revisits the Algerian War, her father's childhood in Kabylia, his exile, his alcoholism... to highlight what these subjects have in common and how intimacy is always political.
It's a process of repair and resilience that takes place on stage: Yasmine Yahiatene's delicate, sensitive portrayal of this Fracture is as gentle as it is often profoundly affecting.
