For 24 hours, the Espace Georges Truffaut is transformed to highlight the LGBTQIA+ community’s paths of resistance, struggle, flamboyance, and creativity.

In an atmosphere somewhere between a fun fair and a tourist office, at (L’)Autre Foire / (The) Other Fair you’ll find truly useful information, resources, workshops, an exhibition, games and discussions, and even a unique cabaret!

Programme:

October 3 / opening & cabaret

Pendant l'ouverture, un bar avec et sans alcool est ouvert, un espace bibliothèque calme et douillet est accessible, et des personnes sont disponibles pour vous accueillir et vous guider.

18:00 ⇥ Launch of Radio Aqueerium

Interviews, podcasts, talks... for 24 hours, this mobile studio installed in the heart of the Fair will broadcast the words of artists, activists, researchers, and local residents.

19:00 ⇥ Exhibition opening

The exhibitions Mémoires Vivantes – Célébrons les lesbiennes / Living Memories – Let’s Celebrate Lesbians! andHéritages Queer / Queer Inheritances, initiated by CVFE (a collective against domestic violence), explore the lived experiences of lesbians and queer people through the prism of the personal archive.

  • Complimentary non alcoholic drink

20:30 ⇥ (L’)Autre Cabaret / (The) Other Cabaret

In a neighbourhood bar backstage atmosphere, this cabaret created especially for the occasion invites you to dream, dance and sing other possibilities - impertinent, a tiny bit crazy and socially engaged.

  • Dive into its world and find its flamboyant cast.

Between October 3 and October 4 / Radio Aqueerium by night

Curated radio broadcast from 20:30 until 11:00.

October 4 / (L’)Autre Foire

11:00 > 13:00 ⇥ Lesbiches workshop

Do you recognise yourself in Lesbian identity? Bring an object that has marked your personal history as a queer person and start exploring queer archiving in a creative way, against invisibility.

11:00 > 13:00 ⇥ Meetup with Let’s talk about non binary

A meeting space for non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, or questioning people: to discuss topics and ask questions in a safe(r) space.

11:00 > 18:00 ⇥ Radio Aqueerium never stops

Talks, playlists, panels and live performance : on Radio Aqueerium you'll find a lot of things and a lot of great guests.

Among other things, we'll me descussion racism on queer stages, and the importance and precariousness of LGBTQIA+ archives. We'll hear from the neighbors, and some sound improvisations.

16:00 ⇥ Readings for children

By L’Orageuse, our local feminist and queer library

14:00 > 17:00 ⇥ Fun & Knowledge Fair

Giant guess who, knock-down games, darts or... crosswords: (The)Other Fair is a fun fair that can turn everything upside down.

Meanwhile, (a little) more seriously: the high-quality information stands will welcome all your questions on gender, feminism, sexuality, the fight against anti-wokeism, and more.

  • Infos for everyone at every age, from Prisme Asbl, Crible Asbl, Let’s talk about non binary, the MAC Liège, La Transpédégouines, Come To BE Asbl, an intersex collective, Les Lesbiches, La Cible, and the CVFE.

14:00 > 15:00 ⇥ Real-fake weddings, by Come to BE

After the success of the Transfagdykes Pride ceremonies, before Vegas, a new opportunity of getting married quickly with whoever you want.

15:00 > 17:00 ⇥ Meet you local trans*

Why should trans people come out? What about those pronouns? A place to ask all you "silly" questions about transidentities.

A programme by the Coalition Genre, supported by the IEFH.

With the participation of 48FM, D’Une Certaine Gaieté, Scan-R, Prisme Asbl, Crible Asbl, Let’s talk about non binary, MAC de Liège, la Transpédégouines, Come To BE Asbl, an intersex collective, les Lesbiches, la Cible, le CVFE, and the Fonds Suzan Daniel.
